Health e-Learning was created in 2000 by Denise Fisher and Steve Fisher based on our combined skills of human lactation education (Denise) and online learning (Steve).

The company has grown steadily since then based on high-quality lactation and breastfeeding courses using evidence-based research as well as responsive tutoring and customer service. Until recently, we were based in sunny Brisbane, Australia. On March 5, 2013, Steve and Denise passed the baton of operating Health e-Learning to Dr. Lenore Goldfarb and Carole Dobrich of the International Institute of Human Lactation Inc. based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Lenore and Carole also founded the Goldfarb Breastfeeding Clinic situated within the Jewish General Hospital located in Montreal and are excited to be assuming the tasks associated with operating Health e-Learning. Like Steve and Denise, Lenore and Carole travel the world to meet customers, build relationships and gain an understanding of the unique situations and people in other countries.

Health e-Learning is a relatively small company that allows us to be flexible and attend to the individual needs of our students. We adopt innovative technologies and our ability to change quickly to respond to the needs of the lactation community is what sets us apart. Our staff is passionate, kind, and hardworking, and do their best to go above and beyond for our customers. Our team includes an administrative officer, an internet technical officer, and dedicated facilitators/educators/tutors.

We care about our students and helping them achieve their goals, and we care about breastfeeding and helping to change attitudes and practices all over the world - it is our specialty and we at Health e-Learning have been doing it for over 20 years now. And one of the best things about our business? Our customers are the best people in the world! Without their enthusiasm and passion, we wouldn't be where we are today.

We believe that anyone who wants to learn should be able to access the highest quality information - which is why we are online. Our education is the most up-to-date because it is online - you don't have to rely on out-of-date textbooks. We developed a lactation education program to improve lactation care in hospitals and the community and members of our team are involved in and familiar with ongoing cutting-edge research. We make everything accessible and flexible so that you can fit your studies in with your life, not the other way around.

We believe in giving back to the lactation community, which is why we make regular donations to various lactation organizations, we provide an annual scholarship for IBLCE Exam preparation and have offered financial support on an ad hoc basis for many genuine personal requests for assistance.

Now that you’ve learned a little about us, we hope to hear about you.

Reflection

As we come to a close of 2022 there is a lot to reflect on in the world. The past few years have given us all an opportunity to reflect on our practices and how we provide services. They have also highlighted many challenging areas yet given us the opportunity to realise our ability to be flexible, think outside the box, and to provide hope.

Lactation, breastfeeding, chestfeeding, bodyfeeding are all inclusive to supporting a world with hope and acceptance. All of us that work in this field have at one stage or another thought that what we do can change the world, and it can.
